About Dry Needle Acupuncture

How It Works

Dry Needle technique is a complementary tool of physical medicine which causes a Local Twitch Response (LTR) of trigger points, manipulation of muscles/fascia/connective tissue, and elicits immunological cascades promoting blood flow and tissue homeostasis. Not only does needling take care of painful trigger points and tight muscles but also helps relieve irritation of nerves.

The technique uses a “dry” needle that has no medication or injection. The needle is inserted through the skin into tight areas in the muscle known as trigger points and targets dysfunctional tissues. Dry Needling promotes relaxation of muscles and helps restore function through boosting the body’s immunity by creating micro lesions caused by the needle insertion.

Dry Needling can help anyone in need of muscular trigger point stimulation or stimulation of inactive muscles.
